If you are questioning whether pears belong on this skillet pizza, trust us.

Cook bacon in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until crispy and browned, 6 to 8 minutes.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate.

Bacon, Leek & Pear Skillet Pizza

Add leek to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, 4 to 6 minutes.

Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Transfer to the plate with the bacon.

Let the pan cool for 5 minutes.

Brush the pan with 1 tablespoon oil.

Brush the dough with the remaining 1 tablespoon oil.

Top with the bacon, leek, pear and cheese.

Bake the pizza on the bottom rack until the crust is golden brown, about 12 minutes.

Carefully transfer to the top rack and turn broiler to high.

Broil until the cheese is lightly browned, about 1 minute.

Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
