Are Clarified Butter and Ghee the Same Thing?
While all ghee is clarified butter,not all clarified butter is ghee.
And while ghee doesn’t need to be refrigerated, clarified butter does.

This makes clarified butter as easy to use in sauteing or other higher-heat applications as a high-smoke-point oil.
So you could saute vegetables at high heat in clarified butter and get the buttery flavor without burning.

Clarified butter will keep for up to six months in the fridge.
Clarified butter will last in your freezer for over a year.

This can take 3 to 5 minutestake care that the butter doesn’t boil too vigorously.
If using cheesecloth, line a fine-mesh sieve with the cheesecloth and set over a heatproof container.
Ladle all of the butter, including the milk solids, through it.
Let the clarified butter stand until the fat rises to the top, about 5 minutes.
Be sure to not get any of the water from the bottom into the container.
(Alternatively, refrigerate the pot or container until the butter solidifies.
Use a spatula to transfer the now-solid butterfat into your chosen container, easily leaving the water behind.)
Microwave the butter, setting the timer for 3 minutes, but do not leave the microwave unattended.
Watch the butter melt and rise.
When the foaming butter gets toward the top of the container, turn off the microwave.
This second heating should give you what you need.
