Heat oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium heat.

Add shallots; toss to coat.

Cook, tossing occasionally, until the shallots start to brown, 7 to 10 minutes.

Pour into the skillet; toss to coat the shallots.

Transfer to the oven.

Remove from the oven.
