Using a pastry blender, cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Pat crumb mixture into an ungreased 11x7x1-1/2-inch baking pan.
Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Spread evenly over baked crust.
Bake about 20 minutes more or until filling is set.
Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
Cut into 24 bars.
Cover and store in the refrigerator.
