Pfeffernusse are small spiced German cookies commonly seen during the holiday season.
The sweet orange glaze helps balance the pepperiness of the cookie’s spices.

Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes in the pan.
Meanwhile, whisk all-purpose flour, pastry flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt in a large bowl.
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, about 1 tablespoon for each cookie.
Place the balls on the prepared pan about 1 inch apart.
Meanwhile, combine confectioners' sugar and orange juice in a small bowl; whisk until smooth.
Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Store airtight at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
