What could possibly make pumpkin muffins even better?
Whisk flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
Whisk pumpkin puree, brown sugar, buttermilk, butter, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
Add the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Divide the batter between the muffin cups.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.
