Pumpkin Pie Crisp

Using your fingertips, mix in butter until the mixture is crumbly.

Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Fold in 3 tablespoons maple syrup until well incorporated (it will be a wet sand consistency).

Pour into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.

Sprinkle the oat topping over the filling.

Bake until the filling is set and the topping is golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes.

Let cool slightly, about 10 minutes before scooping.

Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
