1 travel tip, his ideal last meal and more.
EatingWell:What helped you decide that a low-carb, high-protein diet was right for you?
Lowe:What attracted me to eating the Atkins way was its sustainability.
Its not no carbs, its low carbs, high protein and cutting your sugar.
Lowe:Ive always been a big Wanda Sykes fan, shes super funny.
It may be the couple America didnt know that they needed, but it turns out that they do!
And of course John Owen, my son, I love working with him.
EatingWell:What helps you maintain your low-carb eating pattern while traveling?
Lowe:The main thing is that I always attempt to keep something on hand.
EatingWell:Whats your favorite form of exercise to keep your body moving?
Lowe:Im blessed that I love activity, and I love being outside.
Im outdoors any moment that I can be.
If theres an activity, I will do it!
I love to fish, you name it, Ill do it.
Im really blessed that Im inclined to do something that is also really healthy.
Which I also do, but honestly, I like to go from one activity to the other.
Thats my idea of a good time.
EatingWell:What would you request for your last meal?
Lowe:Im going withoh boy, thats so hard.
Plus a Caesar salad and steak fries.
EatingWell:Whats your least favorite food?
Lowe:Unfortunately, its one thats very healthy.
Everybody who I admire eats this all the time, and I cannot get it down.
I cant do it, it tastes like Im eating the inside of a pumpkin.
I wish I could do it, but I cant.
Thats really the only oneit used to be beets, by the way.
I used to have a problem with beets, and then all of a sudden, I like beets!
Its funny how your palate changes as you get older.
